Matchmaker AI is Canvas's generative AI venue search tool. It's an AI agent that guides you through finding a venue, drawing on 700+ verified, accurate listings on Canvas, complete with real response times, response rates and pricing. Give it your brief, in whatever format suits you, and it narrows down to your closest matches, lets you message every venue from one place, and sends your enquiry to all of them at once.

It's built specifically for venue finding, so the information is more accurate and everything happens in one place. No more juggling a generic AI chatbot in one tab and a spreadsheet of email replies in another.

How It Works

1. Tell it what you need

You can paste in a full brief and Matchmaker AI will extract everything it needs from it, or you can talk it through step by step. It'll then ask clarifying questions to help narrow things down to your closest options, for example whether your date is fixed or you're working with a range, and what layout you need.

You can also talk straight into it, just like a conversation with ChatGPT or Claude. Canvas has built-in transcription, so you can record yourself talking through the brief instead of typing. The more detail you give it, the better the matches.

2. It searches wide, but stays curated

Matchmaker AI searches the whole Canvas database, including venues that aren't live on the platform. If your options still need widening after that, it can search anywhere on the internet within your area and spec to find more possibilities, so you don't need to open a separate AI tool to widen your own search.

Because every match still comes from a curated process, you get more accurate information than a generic AI search, and it's all in one place rather than spread across multiple sites and systems. This includes pricing that sometimes isn't published on a venue's own website.

3. Message and compare venues in one place

Once you have your shortlist, you can instant message venues directly through Canvas rather than emailing each one individually. You can see how quickly each venue responds and when they're online, so it's easy to compare who's on the ball and who isn't.

4. Submit your enquiry to everyone at once

When you're happy with your shortlist, hit submit and your enquiry goes to every venue on it at the same time. From your dashboard, you can track every response, see them land in real time, and message venues directly.

  • If you widen your search, results usually land in under 40 seconds, not the 15 to 30 minute wait you'd get elsewhere.

🚨 "Is Matchmaker AI different from the standard search form?"

✅ Yes. The standard form is a simple, non-AI filter that only searches live venues on Canvas. Matchmaker AI is a guided AI search that covers the full Canvas database, including venues not live on the platform, and can widen out to search the internet if needed. Both are available, so use whichever suits you, but Matchmaker AI will generally get you a broader and more tailored shortlist.

🚨 "What if I don't have fixed dates yet?"

✅ That's fine. Matchmaker AI checks whether your date is fixed as part of the process. If you give it a date range instead of a specific date, it will ask follow-up questions to help pin down what it needs to search effectively.

🚨 "Why is a venue's pricing showing when it isn't on their website?"

✅ Some venues don't publish pricing publicly. Matchmaker AI can still surface pricing information as part of your search and let you filter by budget, so you're not stuck chasing that detail by email before you can compare venues.
