Gmail can tag enquiries as promotions, social or updates
If you are using Gmail and Canvas Events emails are landing in the Social, Promotions, or Updates tab instead of your Primary inbox, follow these steps to ensure they always appear where you can see them.
Step 1: Drag & Drop the Email to the Primary Inbox
- Open Gmail.
- Find a Canvas Events email in your Social, Promotions, or Updates tab.
- Drag and drop the email into the Primary tab.
- A message will pop up asking:
"Do you want to do this for future messages from [email address]?" - Click Yes to ensure all future emails go to the Primary inbox.
Step 2: Create a Filter to Always Send Emails to the Primary Inbox
If emails keep landing in the wrong tab, you can create a rule to make sure they always go to Primary:
- Open Gmail and click the Search bar (at the top).
- Type from: @canvas-events.co.uk and press Enter.
- Click the Filter icon (🔽) on the right side of the search bar.
- Click Create filter.
- Check the box "Never send it to Spam".
- Check the box "Categorize as: Primary".
- Click Create filter to save your settings.
Step 3: Add Canvas Events to Your Gmail Contacts
Adding our email to your contacts helps Gmail recognize it as important:
- Open an email from Canvas Events.
- Hover over the sender's name.
- Click Add to Contacts.
- Refresh Gmail to apply changes.
Final Step: Check Your Gmail Tabs
If you still don’t see Canvas Events emails in your Primary inbox:
- Click the More option in Gmail’s left menu.
- Check folders like Spam, All Mail, or Other tabs.
- Mark any Canvas Events emails as "Not Spam" if needed.
Once these steps are completed, all future enquiry emails should appear directly in your Primary inbox. 🚀
