AI Boost

How Canvas uses AI to get your profile seen by more event planners

AI Boost is a Canvas feature that automatically optimises your venue profile using the information you've already submitted on your Info page, things like your tagline, venue description, features, restrictions and specs. It applies best practice so your profile reads well, ranks well, and stands out to event planners browsing Canvas, as well as to AI tools and AI-powered search. We recommend leaving AI Boost switched on for every venue.

How It Works

AI Boost takes everything you've entered about your venue, including:

  • Your tagline and venue description
  • Your capacity, specs and criteria
  • Your features and restrictions

It then applies best practice writing and optimisation to make your profile clearer, more compelling and more discoverable, both on Canvas and on external AI search tools.

💡 Tip: The more unique and specific your original information is, the better AI Boost can optimise it. Avoid generic, copy-paste descriptions from your website or other listing platforms.

What AI Boost Optimises

Taglines

AI Boost includes built-in safeguards to stop your tagline from sounding generic. It will flag or remove common patterns, such as simply naming your location, or using vague, overused phrases, and replace them with something more expressive and specific to your space. A strong tagline is often the difference between a planner clicking through to your profile or scrolling past it.

Venue description

Your description is reviewed and refined using best practice so it clearly communicates what makes your venue worth booking.

FAQs

Canvas builds in commonly asked questions that planners typically want answered about a space, covering the balance of features and restrictions. These are optimised for search and AI tools, and are based on the questions planners most commonly ask when comparing venues. This helps planners get a fast, honest picture of your venue, and helps your profile perform better in AI search tools too.

  • You can edit any FAQ answer, for example if a capacity or detail is wrong (say, correcting it to 180 guests).
  • We'd urge you to check FAQs for inaccuracies rather than rewrite them completely. They're built to give planners a balanced view of your venue, both features and restrictions, so they can make an informed decision before they enquire.
  • You can hide any FAQ you don't want shown.
  • You can add your own questions, up to a maximum of three.

Reviewing and Editing AI Boost Suggestions

  1. Go to your venue's Info page and review the tagline, description and FAQs AI Boost has generated.
  2. Check for factual accuracy, capacities, restrictions, features and any specific details.
  3. If something is factually incorrect, edit only that specific word or data point.
  4. Leave the rest of the wording as close to the suggested version as possible.
  5. Add up to three of your own FAQs if there are questions you'd like planners to see that aren't already covered.

⚠️ Important: AI Boost is built using AI models (Anthropic and OpenAI) trained on best practice for venue marketing and search visibility. If you rewrite large sections or make too many changes, the optimisation loses its effectiveness. Only edit where something is factually wrong, not simply because the phrasing isn't how you'd normally write it.

Common Question: "I Can't Edit My Description, It's Not Updating"

🚨 The Issue: A venue tries to edit their description, but the text shown on their profile doesn't match what they typed, or it looks like their edit "hasn't saved." This is one of the most common questions we get about AI Boost.

The Resolution: This isn't a saving or editing fault. AI Boost automatically rewrites your original description to apply best practice for visibility and conversion, so the version live on your profile will often read differently to what you originally uploaded. That's the feature working as intended, not a bug.

If you want to change something:

  1. Don't retype or paste your full original description back in. AI Boost will optimise it again, so it'll look "unchanged" to you.
  2. Instead, edit only the specific word, phrase or detail you want to correct.
  3. Save and check the profile again. Your specific edit should now be reflected, alongside the rest of the AI-optimised text.

If a single-word or small edit genuinely won't save, or the page throws an error, that's a real technical issue, contact Canvas support and we'll look into it.

Common Question: "Can I Edit or Rewrite My FAQs?"

🚨 The Issue: A venue wants to change their FAQs, either because the wording doesn't sound like them, or because they'd rather only show favourable information.

The Resolution: You can edit FAQs, but we'd recommend only correcting factual inaccuracies, such as a wrong capacity, price or restriction, rather than rewriting them completely. FAQs are optimised for search and AI tools, and built around what planners most commonly ask when comparing venues. They're designed to show a balanced view, covering both your features and any restrictions, so planners can make an informed decision before they enquire. Rewriting the wording or removing the balance reduces that optimisation and can undermine planner trust.

If there's more you'd like to say, you can add up to three of your own FAQs alongside the ones already provided, rather than replacing what's there.

Important Notes

  • AI Boost is switched on by default, and we strongly recommend keeping it that way.
  • FAQ language may occasionally sound slightly different to your usual tone. This is intentional. It's designed to show planners a fair balance of what your venue offers and what it doesn't, which builds trust and improves conversion.
  • You can add a maximum of three additional FAQs per venue.
  • Keeping descriptions unique to Canvas (rather than duplicating your website copy) improves both visibility and AI search performance.
  • If your description on your profile doesn't match what you uploaded, this is AI Boost optimisation at work, not an editing fault (see above).
  • FAQs should be checked for accuracy, not rewritten completely. They're optimised for search, AI and the questions planners actually ask, and are designed to give a balanced view so planners can make an informed decision.

Best Practice Tips

✅ Leave AI Boost switched on so your profile always reflects current best practice.

✅ Only edit specific words or data points that are factually incorrect, not the overall phrasing or structure.

✅ Use the FAQ section to build planner trust by clearly showing both features and restrictions, correcting inaccuracies rather than rewriting the wording.

✅ Add your own FAQs where there's a genuine gap, but stay within the limit of three.

✅ Treat your tagline as a chance to say something distinctive about your space, not just where it is.
